Well, the day has finally come. My good friend and roommate Alex Elliott has flown the coop, and as a result, I'm lonely. To make matters worse, my other awesome roommate Rachel has gone home to visit her family. The house has never felt so big. On the upside, I've been able to lay down on the floor of every one of our rooms--something I've always wanted to do, but felt too intrusive to actually accomplish. It turned out to be more satisfying than I expected. I documented the occasion on my camera phone. Anyway, the bad far outweighs the good, and I'm hardpressed to appreciate the silver lining. I've been trying to keep myself busy.
Friday night was a blast. It began with a welcome back dinner for Virginia who has been studying abroad in Italy for far too long. It was really nice to see her again. I got to catch up with more than her, though. Other friends who have been in town all summer were there: the Kelsey twins, Alex, Molly, and Kevin. Reunited and it feels so good. Afterward, I dropped by Catherine Striplin's surprise birthday party. It seemed to be quite a success. Chris' party was my top priority however, so I went on over to enjoy the fun. And oh man, did I have fun.
I sat around my house today until Dan's show Catch 22. War, frustration, and sardonic wit. It was pretty good, and I recommend that everyone "catch" the last show tomorrow at the Annex. After that, I went to Alex Nicholas' 22 birthday party. Fun times, and I got to see Justin who has been interning the past semester.
Tomorrow, I plan on laying around the house and getting some homework done. Maybe I'll even clean! Exciting, eh? Either way, there you have it--the weekend of the sole occupent of 511 B. It was tough, but I survived. We've yet to see, however, if I'll be so lucky when Rachel goes to Australia, and I'll have to endure months of an empty house. Wish me luck, and call me often.
