I don't update nearly as much as I should

...because it makes it seem more impressive when I do

4/16/06 03:01 pm - All-Night Yahtzee, What else?

All of you know how rare it is that I actually post on Livejournal, so this must be important. This Friday, April 21, All-Night Yahtzee will host their Real World style Spring Concert. We've got some great songs under our belt by Alanis Morissette, Coldplay, Gavin Degraw, Mariah Carey, Seal, The Beach Boys and more. Plus we poke fun at ourselves throughout the entire thing. It is sure to be a lot of fun. It's in the FSU Union Ballroom, and doors open at 7:30pm. It's free, but bring a few bukcs to donate. We have a trip to NYC and a cd to pay for. Thanks, and I'll see you there!

Oh, and also come to the after party! You guys know we Yahtzee-ers love to party, and this one promises to rival any shindig we've had so far! No joke. Again, it's to help raise money, but what a way to do it! $3 bottomless cups for beer, 50 cent jello shots, and $1 mixed drinks. It'll be at Adam's house (call me / email me / respond to this post to get directions.) See you guys there!

9/23/05 10:26 am - This one-trick pony's getting back on track.

I guess these quiz/profile things are my journal's main contribution to the community here. Whatever, I think they're fun. With that said, I present the latest development to spark my interest:

1. Reply with your name and I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST.

9/18/05 02:03 pm - Our bout with tooth decay

Truly, the lengths we will go to in the name of entertainment never fail to impress me.  On this particularly classy occassion, Alex bought an eight-pack of novelty teeth for $1.74.  Translation: best damn investment he's ever made.

Prepare yourself. )

7/3/05 12:04 pm

I know I didn't exactly do the best job with this last time, but I think everyone deserves a second chance.  So here!  I hope to keep up with it so no one is ignored!

1. Reply with your name and I will write something I like about you.
2. I will then tell what song reminds me of you.
3. If I were to apply an o'clock to you, I'll tell you what it would be.
4. I will try to name a single word that best describes you.
5. I'll tell you the most memorable moment I've had with you.
6. I will tell you what color you remind me of.
7. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. Put this in your journal.

6/19/05 03:51 am - Empty nest

Well, the day has finally come.  My good friend and roommate Alex Elliott has flown the coop, and as a result, I'm lonely.  To make matters worse, my other awesome roommate Rachel has gone home to visit her family.  The house has never felt so big.  On the upside, I've been able to lay down on the floor of every one of our rooms--something I've always wanted to do, but felt too intrusive to actually accomplish.  It turned out to be more satisfying than I expected.  I documented the occasion on my camera phone.  Anyway, the bad far outweighs the good, and I'm hardpressed to appreciate the silver lining.  I've been trying to keep myself busy.

Friday night was a blast.  It began with a welcome back dinner for Virginia who has been studying abroad in Italy for far too long.  It was really nice to see her again.  I got to catch up with more than her, though.  Other friends who have been in town all summer were there: the Kelsey twins, Alex, Molly, and Kevin.  Reunited and it feels so good.  Afterward, I dropped by Catherine Striplin's surprise birthday party.  It seemed to be quite a success.  Chris' party was my top priority however, so I went on over to enjoy the fun.  And oh man, did I have fun.

I sat around my house today until Dan's show  Catch 22.  War, frustration, and sardonic wit.  It was pretty good, and I recommend that everyone "catch" the last show tomorrow at the Annex.  After that, I went to Alex Nicholas' 22 birthday party.  Fun times, and I got to see Justin who has been interning the past semester.

Tomorrow, I plan on laying around the house and getting some homework done.  Maybe I'll even clean!  Exciting, eh?  Either way, there you have it--the weekend of the sole occupent of 511 B.  It was tough, but I survived.  We've yet to see, however, if I'll be so lucky when Rachel goes to Australia, and I'll have to endure months of an empty house.  Wish me luck, and call me often.

6/8/05 08:12 pm - Oh man, awesome!

Now all I have to do is figure out how to make a match ignite on it's own.

I've documented my roommate's transformation from mild-mannered friend-of-friends to the most extreme hard-ass to ever walk the planet.

Watch the progression and weep. )

I've been working on Livejournal so much today.  I think I may have caught the bug.  Who knows, I might even start to update regularly!  (It's got to be one of the signs of the apocalypse.  Plague and pestilence are next.)

6/5/05 01:23 pm - I've been hit!

I was listed as one of Elizabeth Kelsey's five victims when she played, and I'll be damned if I ruin everything by being a stick-in-the-mud.  So let the games continue!  Here's how it goes:

List five songs that you are currently digging ... it doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words or even if they're any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist and the song in your blog along with your five songs. Then tag five other people to see what they're listening to.

5 songs:

1. War - Edwin Starr (I've been operating soundboard all week for A Piece of My Heart, a play set in wartime Vietnam.  This song was on our soundtrack, and has a way of sticking in your head.)
2. Aquarius / Let the Sunshine In - Hair (Same deal as above)
3. Hollaback Girl - Gwen Stefani (Thanks in no small part to my roomate Alex)
4. Fairest Lord Jesus - Hymn
5. I'll Be Seeing You - Billie Holiday

4/20/05 12:26 am - Bam! A quiz!

I took a quiz! Look at what I am!

ENFP - The Champion
You scored 72% I to E, 21% N to S, 4% F to T, and 89% J to P!
Your type is known as the Champion type, which is part of the larger group called idealists. Nothing occurs that does not have some deep and ethical significance in your eyes. You see life as an exciting drama. You are very charismatic, yet tend to be too harsh on yourself for not being as genuine as you think you should be. 3% of the population shares your type.
As a romantic partner, you need to talk about what is going on in your life. You are a strong supporter for your partner's efforts to grow and change and be happy. You need to feel that same support from your partner. Expressive, optimistic, and curious, you are eager to enjoy new experiences with your partner, whom you wish to be your confidant and soul mate, as well as play mate. You are uncomfortable sharing negative emotion, though, and tend to withdraw from confrontation and process your feelings privately. You feel most loved when your partner appreciates your creativity, accepts your uniqueness, and sees you as the compassionate person you are. You need to hear your partner tell you how much you mean to them and would love if they did thoughtful spontaneous things to demonstrate it.
Your group summary: idealists (NF)
Your type summary: ENFP

I don't know if I'd call myself "Champion," but everything else was pretty dead on. For those of you who want to try it, beware. It's 70 questions long. Don't worry, though; I finished it in about ten minutes.
